We want to assure you that your\ninformation will be properly managed and protected whilst in our possession.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In order for us to arrange\ninsurance cover for you, and to handle claims, we are required to collect and\nshare personal data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>THE KIND OF INFORMATION WE\nHOLD ABOUT YOU<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We may collect, store, and\nprocess the following categories of personal information about you (\u201cPersonal\nInformation\u201d):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Basic personal details such as your name,\naddress, e-mail address, telephone number, date of birth or age, gender,\nmarital status, nationality ID Card or Passport Number;<\/li><li>Additional information about your insurance\nrequirements, such as details of your car, boat, home, business or travel\narrangements;<\/li><li>Other information relating to your insurance,\nsuch as claims history, quotation history, payment history, claims data;<\/li><li>Details on your\ndependants\/spouse\/partner\/family;<\/li><li>Information about your current and previous\nemployment and occupation;<\/li><li>Signature;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We may also collect, store and\nuse \u2018special categories\u2019 of more sensitive personal information such as health\ninformation (for example current state of health, existing conditions, family\nor personal history in relation to some conditions).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>HOW WE WILL USE INFORMATION\nABOUT YOU<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We will only collect and use your\npersonal information when the law allows us to. &nbsp;Most commonly, we will use your Personal\nInformation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>for the purpose of sourcing quotations,\nunderwriting and administering of insurance policies;<\/li><li>where we need to comply with a legal obligation<\/li><li>where it is necessary for our legitimate\ninterests (or those of a third party) and your interests and fundamental rights\ndo not override those interests; and\/or<\/li><li>We may also use your personal information in the\nfollowing situations, which are likely to be rare:<\/li><li>Where we need to protect your interests (or\nsomeone else\u2019s interests).<\/li><li>Where it is needed in the public interest (or\nfor official purposes].<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>HOW WE USE PARTICULARLY\nSENSITIVE PERSONAL INFORMATION<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sensitive Personal Information\nrequires higher levels of protection. We need to have further justification for\ncollecting, storing and using this type of personal information. We may process\nspecial categories of personal information in the following circumstances:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>In limited circumstances, with your explicit\nwritten consent.<\/li><li>Where we need to carry out our legal obligations\nand in line with this Data Protection and Privacy Statement.<\/li><li>Where it is needed in the public interest, such\nas for equal opportunities monitoring, and in line with this Data Protection\nand Privacy Statement.<\/li><li>Where it is needed to assess your working\ncapacity on health grounds, subject to appropriate confidentiality safeguards.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Less commonly, we may process\nthis type of information where it is needed in relation to legal claims or\nwhere it is needed to protect your interests (or someone else\u2019s interests) and\nyou are not capable of giving your consent, or where you have already made the\ninformation public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We will not use Personal\nInformation for any other purpose incompatible with the purposes described in\nthis Data Protection and Privacy Statement, unless it is required or authorised\nby law, authorised by you, or is in your own vital interest (e.g. in the case\nof a medical emergency).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>HOW WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION\nOUTSIDE OF THE COMPANY<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As Insurance brokers, we are\nobliged to forward any application forms or related documents, and other\nunderwriting or claims information, to insurance companies.&nbsp; This can be in electronic or paper format.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your information may be disclosed\nwhen we believe in good faith that the disclosure is required:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>by law;<\/li><li>to comply with a judicial proceeding, court\norder or legal process; or<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to prevent and detect\nfraud we may share your information with regulatory bodies in Malta or if\napplicable, overseas, as well as with other insurance companies, public bodies\nincluding the Police and other organisations and may undertake credit or fraud\nsearches with relevant agencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>WHO MAY GIVE US INFORMATION\nABOUT YOU?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the stated purposes, we may\nreceive personal or sensitive data relating to you or your dependants\/ spouse\/\npartner\/ family from third parties such as those listed above or others such as\n(but not limited to) the ETARS traffic accident database, the Court Judgements\ndatabase and the Registry of Companies, which are legally entitled to\ncommunicate such data and that such data may be processed for the stated\npurposes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>SECURITY<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We will take appropriate measures\nto protect Personal Information and Sensitive Personal Information that are\nconsistent with applicable privacy and data security laws and regulations,\nincluding requiring service providers to use appropriate measures to protect\nthe confidentiality and security of Personal Information and Sensitive Personal\nInformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>DATA INTEGRITY AND RETENTION<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We will take reasonable steps to\nensure that the Personal Information and Sensitive Personal Information\nprocessed is reliable for its intended use, and is accurate and complete for\ncarrying out the purposes described in this Notice.
